Magodi Feedlot I am the lease holder of a piece of land situated at Magodi about 35 kilometers from Rakops Village and 35 km from entrance gate of Makgadikgadi game reserve in the Central District Council in Botswana and it is 300 meters away from the tarred road that connects Maun and Gaborone passing through Rakops village.. The area was granted through a lease issued by Ngwato Land Board on the 23rd April 2007 for the purpose of cattle feedlot. Application for change of use from cattle feedlot to integrated farming was submitted on 15/08/2016. I am expecting a new lease agreement of integrated farming at any time. N/B: In Integrated farming 85% of the plot is reserved for agriculture whereas the remaining 15% is reserved for tourism purposes. THE AREA The property is zoned for commercial use purposes with its main land use stated as a Cattle Feedlot Farm. The plot was measuring 39.0781 hectares and it was 10 meters away from the banks of the Boteti River which originates from Thamalakane River in Maun and the river flows during the month of May, June, July and August. Due to the expansion of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park the plot was also affected by the expansion of the park and about 4.50 hectares from the plot was cut and the plot is now measuring 35 hectares and it is 60 meters away from the river bank that allows you to see wild animals from close range. The plot is also attractive for tourists and it is a zebra track starting from Khumaga village. OTHER INFORMATION Due to its proximity to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park the plot is an ideal haven for wildlife therefore making it suitable for other land uses such as: Eco-Tourism, Campsites and Lodges. There are also plenty of different wildlife species found in the area such as: Elephants, Zebra, Impala, Kudu, Lion, Leopard, Wildebeest and diversity of Birds. The farm is situated about 160 kilometers from the town of Maun, and it is also 405 kilometers away from Kham Rhino Sanctuary in Serowe.
